Fresh Flowers & Fabrics

Hello All!

The warm summer weather is bringing on the blooms. Our friends at the McMinnville Community Garden have once again been busy growing a variety of cut flowers for your floral enjoyment.

In season now are brightly colored Butterfly Weeds, elegant white Gooseneck Loosestrife, stimulating Statice, and the green flowers of Bells of Ireland.

Zinnias are just starting to pop and Sunflowers are on the way.

In addition to the assorted 2 inch pot size Carnivorous plants you’ve seen here over the past couple of months, you’ll now find some larger specimens.

We’ve been lucky enough to add 4 inch pot size Dew threads (Drosera filiformis) and gallon pot size Sarracenia to the mix.

Fanciful Fabrics

New textile arrivals this week in both clothing and tapestries have brightened the store with funky designs and fun color combinations.

Most aptly categorized as “Bohemian” (Boho), you will find a mix of florals, celestial themes and patchwork designs. Representing a free-spirited fashion, the boho look celebrates a colorful, artistic aesthetic and is often labeled “Hippie.” However, inquiring minds who’d like to know more about where the differences lie between these two terms need only turn to Vogue for clarification. Interesting stuff!
